Jane

Jane went to her new home on March 5th, 2016. Her new family is thrilled to have her, and we’ve been receiving regular updates.

Jane is a veiled (Yemen) chameleon that was rescued from the same person we got Belle and Butler from. She has advanced MBD and possibly sustained leg fractures in the past. She was extremely underweight and very dehydrated when we got her home. She doubled in size since then! She spent the first month sleeping all day long – which for a chameleon is a sign of trouble. However, with a proper diet, proper supplementation and a good UVB bulb she made an almost full recovery. Her limbs will never be normal again, but she was active and feisty and was an absolute blast to care for. Female chameleons lay eggs a few times a year even if they haven’t been with a mate, and she successfully laid 59 infertile eggs before leaving us.

  1. Nice wode! I just spent the last hour or so going through your site here. I can’t wait for the hermit crabs to pop up. You have lovely animals, and it’s so great to hear the stories of recovery!!

    1. Thank you so much!! I am so behind with going through things when it comes to the hermits. I took too many photos of them over the years, can’t decide what to use and what is useless!
